Hi greenies!
Our next meeting will be Friday, February 20, at 10 a.m. Kari will be joining by phone, so I suggest we hold the meeting in the green room.
Here is a tentative agenda (most of which is from Kari). Feel free to alter at will:
- more plates to go in the dishwasher than paper plates to go in the trash? Maybe someone could find at a garage sale or on freecycle.
- a recycle box for cardboard in the lunch room (for all those freezer meals that come out of their containers)? Or can that go in the container that Erin B got a while back? If so, maybe a sign above the trash cans reminding people what they can recycle instead.
- replacing the paper/foam cups
- carpooling space
- a fundraiser to but some earth friendlier light bulbs
- rechargeable batteries and a battery charger
- buy recycled paper (paper towels, post-its, etc.) instead of what we get now and pay for the difference between what we get and what we could get
- promote the bike to work day
- plan something for Earth Day
- bathrooms should be on motion activated sensors so that the lights go off after a period of inactivity (about 30 minutes)
